Last Thursday night the Eagles, started their defense of their Super-Bowl championship as they played host to the Atlanta Falcons. The game was delayed for nearly 45 minutes due to weather.
The first half, of the game was a defensive of battle and it was 6-3 at halftime. In the second half, the Eagles took the lead 10-6 on a Jay Ajayi one-yard touchdown run with 4:41 left in the third. The Falcons, retook the lead with 9:53 left in the fourth on a Tevin Coleman nine-yard touchdown run. With 2:25 left in the game Jay Ajayi, gave the Eagles the lead once again on a 11-yard touchdown run and scored the two point conversion right after. Just last in the divisional game, the game came down to one play to Julio Jones the pass was incomplete and the Eagles won 18-12 in a nail bitter.
The Eagles offense wasn't good at all but at the end of the day they found away to win the game. The defense stepped up and won them this game. They could've lost this game if the Falcons played better themselves. Both offensives stank up the joint especially in the first half. Nick Foles was subpar, he threw for only 117 yards and one interception, Matt Ryan threw for 251 yards and one interception. I believe with time the offense will get it together and will be just fine.
