Thursday, November 22, 2018:
Chicago Bears, (7-3) @ Detroit Lions, (4-6), 12:30PM ET, (CBS):
The Chicago Bears, will be without their starting Quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky (Shoulder injury) for the Thanksgiving Showdown with the Detroit Lions. These two team just met two weeks ago where the Bears came away with the 34-22 victory in Chicago. I think the Lions come out with nothing to play for and win on Thanksgiving with the Bears shorthanded on offense.
Final Score: Lions 23 - Bears 20; Eric J
Well the Bears impressed me last week, but I still do not believe they are a top team, maybe the NFC north is just flat out bad. Trubisky has a bruise on his shoulder which apparently means he can’t play this weekend. I once again will not get this injury as I know players play through worse. Anyway, Chase Daniel is going to be the starting QB this week against the Lions. The Bears defense though is legit and will be essential to carrying this team if they want to hold 1st place in this division and get a run in the playoffs. The Lions are coming off a very impressive win in which they beat Carolina. The Lions will be without Kerryon Johnson and Marvin Jones this week which could hurt them against a good Bears defense. This will be an interesting game for sure. Final Score: Lions 24 - Bears 23; Matt K
Mike's Final Score: Lions 24 - Bears 23
Washington Redskins, (6-4) @ Dallas Cowboys, (5-5), 4:30PM ET, (FOX):
The Washington Redskins we all know will be without their starting Quarterback, Alex Smith for this game and the rest of the season after braking his leg last Sunday against the Houston Texans. Get well Alex Smith! The Dallas Cowboys, come into this Thanksgiving game as a -7 favorite and looking for their third straight win which would put them in first place in the NFC East. I think with nobody given the Redskins a chance basic of the point spread, they go into Dallas and upset their arch rivals by a touchdown.
Final Score: Redskins 27 - Cowboys 20; Eric J
The battle for possession of 1st place in the NFC East takes place in this one. The Redskins had a terrible and horrific injury to their starting QB, Alex Smith in which he broke his fibula and tibia. Their new starter is going to be Colt McCoy who could really throw his name into a free agent situation if he closes out the year well with the Redskins. The Skins defense needs to rally around him and help keep this team in games. This game is huge for the Redskins, if they pull off this win, they are going to be 2 games in front in this division, with some slight breathing room. The Cowboys won on a game winning field goal last week against the Falcons in a great game for this team’s defense. The Cowboys are rallying after a bad start to the season, the addition of Amari Cooper has given this team one missing piece to their offense. They are missing a reliable good tight end though which could be a huge step next season for them to rounding out a solid offense. This game should be a battle between two good defenses and mediocre offenses. Final Score: Cowboys 20 - Redskins 17; Matt K
Mike's Final Score: Redskins 21 - Cowboys 20
Atlanta Falcons, (4-6) @ New Orleans Saints, (9-1), 8:20PM ET, (NBC):
The New Orleans Saints, come into this Thanksgiving night game having scored 40+ points in their last three games and the last two have been blowout wins against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Falcons after winning three straight games, all of sudden have lost two straight and are fighting for their playoff lives they lose to the Saints they're pretty much out of the NFC playoff wild card race. I think Drew Brees, leads the Saints to their tenth straight win. Final Score: Saints 38 - Falcons 21; Eric J
The final game on our Thanksgiving slate of games. The Falcons are struggling each week to find any consistency on offense as their defense did their job last week. Deion Jones will not be back this week, but he could be back next week for the Falcons defense. Matt Ryan and company need to come out ready to throw all over the Saints if they want any chance to stay in this game. The Saints are the best team in the league and honestly, it’s not really close. Their defense has improved each week and last week they looked phenomenal. If the defense can continue to play great along with the most explosive offense in the league, they will be unbeatable. The Saints are just flat out blowing the doors off everyone.
Final Score: Saints 46 - Falcons 31; Matt K
Mike's Final Score: Saints 52 - Falcons 27
