It's week number 11 and this week we have some good match-ups but the two best games are the Sunday Night game between the top two NFC North team as the Minnesota Vikings go to the Windy City and play the Chicago Bears. Then on Monday night, it's a battle of two first place teams as the Los Angeles Rams taken on the Kansas City Chiefs in LA, the game was supposed to be in Mexico City but due to poor field conditions the game was moved to LA since the Rams were the home team.
Week 10 Results:
Week 11 Predictions:
1PM ET Games:
Bye Week Teams: Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers
Cincinnati Bengals, (5-4) @ Baltimore Ravens, (4-5); CBS:
The Ravens are fighting for their playoff lives at home against their AFC North rivals the Bengals. The Bengals are coming off a blowout loss at home to the New Orleans Saints last Sunday and are also playing for their playoff lives. This will be a hard noise battle between two teams that need to win. I believe the Ravens pull out a victory with a game winning field goal by Justin Tucker. Final Score: Ravens 16 - Bengals 14; Eric J
Both of these AFC North teams are falling apart as the Steelers are pulling away from the group. The Bengals are still without AJ Green, Boyd has been great all year even without Green last week. I believe the issue with the Bengals is their 32nd ranked defense never giving their offense a chance to remain in a game. They are going up against a team with the opposite story. The Ravens defense has been great, but their offense can’t do anything with consistency. Joe Flacco is officially listed as doubtful, Lamar Jackson also missed practice Thursday and Friday due to a stomach bug and might not be ready to go for Sunday’s game. The Ravens will be playing a must win with either Lamar Jackson or RGIII as their starting QB. I still do not count out the Ravens at home against the worst defense in the league.
Final Score: Ravens 20 - Bengals 17; Matt K
Dallas Cowboys, (4-5) @ Atlanta Falcons, (4-5); FOX:
This is a toss up game which teams will show up? Which Cowboys will show up the one that loss to the Tennessee Titans in week 9 at home on Monday night or the one that beat the Eagles last Sunday Night in Philly. The same goes for Falcons which team will show up? The one that won three straight games to get back into the NFC wild card race or the team that laid an egg last week against the Cleveland Browns? I think the Falcons at home win a nail bitter.
Final Score: Falcons 20 - Cowboys 16; Eric J
A battle between two teams one game under .500. The Cowboys are coming off an impressive win over the Eagles and are now heading into Atlanta. The Cowboys passing game is weak, but they can hope to ride Zeke for wins as he can truly be the work horse that carries a team. The Falcons looked confused against the Browns last week and will look to rebound this week against the Cowboys. The offense needs to let fly and pass the ball better than last week if they want to remain in this game with a shot to win. This game will be close and is hard to predict, because both teams are subpar.
Final Score: Falcons 23 - Cowboys 21; Matt K
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, (3-6) @ New York Giants, (2-7); FOX:
A game neither team's fanbase wants them to win simply because they want a better draft pick. The Giants win a close game at home. Final Score: Giants 21 - Buccaneers 19; Eric J
The game between two bad teams battling for a better draft pick. The Buccaneers offense went to sleep last week as Fitz has gone back to looking like a backup QB once again. The defense for the Buccaneers is horrible and if their offense can’t produce anymore, they will finish 3-13. I am convinced Dirk Koetter will lose his job at seasons end because they are embarrassing to watch. The Giants won last week in a last-minute drive, but we have to ask why Eli is still starting at this point. Why not see what Lauletta brings this team for the future. Either way this game should be determined by the Giants defense.
Final Score: Giants 18 - Buccaneers 14; Matt K
Pittsburgh Steelers, (6-2-1) @ Jacksonville Jaguars, (3-6); CBS:
At the start of the season this game could've been a battle between two first place teams but instead the only first place team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jaguars are the most disappointing team this season and it's all due to a lack of offense mainly with no good quarterback. The Steelers get their seventh win of the season closing on another AFC North title. Final Score: Steelers 31 - Jaguars 10; Eric J
The Steelers are walking away with their division while the other teams just collapse and look pitiful. The Steelers offense is just steam rolling everyone right now and their defense is really starting to step up which has been greatly affected by the pass rush. James Conner > Le’Veon Bell in my opinion especially when you add his teamwork. They will dominate this game. The Jaguars are just flat out bad. Their team has so many nice pieces, but in this era of the NFL you can’t win games without a good QB. The Jaguars QB situation is an anchor on this team’s ankle as they try to swim in the ocean. The Jaguars defense would still be a top 5 defense, but they are exhausted as their offense can’t keep them off the field.
Final Score: Steelers 37 - Jaguars 17; Matt K
Houston Texans, (6-3) @ Washington Redskins, (6-3); CBS:
A battle between to first place teams as the Texans take on the Redskins in the DC. Both teams are looking to increase their division lead an inch closer to winning their divisions. I think the Texans are the better team however, the Redskins are at home and they've beaten both the Panthers and Packers at home this season and they will do the same here. Final Score: Redskins 31 - Texans 27; Eric J
This game is big for both teams. The Texans have the Titans breathing down their backs. The Texans haven’t been truly tested by a good team yet on this 6-game winning streak they are on and this game will determine if they are legit contenders. The Redskins defense really showed up last week while the offense didn’t do much. This game will be a defensive battle in the first half but should open up some in the 2nd half. I believe Watson and that receiving corps out play the Redskins and pick up a very important win. Final Score: Texans 27 - Redskins 21; Matt K
Tennessee Titans, (5-4) @ Indianapolis Colts; (4-5); CBS:
An AFC South battle between two teams that have been playing well lately and still very much alive in the AFC South and wild card race. The Titans, will look to win their third game in a row after beating the Cowboys and Patriots the last two weeks. The Colts won't have enough on offense to beat the Titans here as this will be the game to end their hopes of the playoffs this season. Final Score: Titans 27 - Colts 13; Eric J
The Titans just blew us all away last week with their dominant win over the Patriots. This defense is NASTY and will definitely be a threat to Andrew Luck this week as they made the Pats offense go to sleep. The Titans offense woke up after their bye week and if they keep firing like this, they are a playoff team. They still need another WR and Walker at TE back to make a super bowl run. The Colts on the other hand squeaked by the Jaguars last week and held off a late comeback attempt by the Jags. The Colts are an inconsistent team with the defensive ROY and Andrew Luck playing like stars. I love what Luck has been doing this year off his injuries, I would love to see what he can do with a better supporting cast. Anyway, I think the Titans realize a loss here could put them in a bad situation for the division and will find a way to grind out a win in this game. Final Score: Titans 20 - Colts 13; Matt K
Carolina Panthers, (6-3) @ Detroit Lions, (3-6); FOX:
Can the Panthers recover from their blowout loss to the Steelers last week they only had ten days to do so. The Lions on the other-hand are fighting for a good draft pick so they can start the process of a some what of a rebuild. I think Cam Newton leads the Panthers to victory.
Final Score: Panthers 36 - Lions 9; Eric J
The Panthers were flat out embarrassed by the Steelers last week on TNF. They will have to rebound this week and make sure they move forward. Their division already looks out of hand as the Saints are blowing out everyone, but they can still grab a wildcard spot they just need to get back into the win column. The Lions are confusing because they have the talent to be a great team but due to poor ownership, management, and coaching. The Lions and their fan base just seem to have a losing atmosphere. I am not saying Patricia isn’t right for the job, but maybe he just isn’t head coach material. The Lions just need to figure something out, I would suggest a pay cut for Stafford to get them to spend money on pieces they need more. Final Score: Panthers 30 - Lions 20; Matt K
4:05PM ET Games:
Denver Broncos, (3-6) @ Los Angeles Chargers, (7-2); CBS:
The Broncos need a franchise QB and right now they don't have one, Case Keenum is okay QB but not good enough for the future. The Chargers are a top five team on both sides of the ball and will soon get Joey Bosa on defense back from an injury. The Broncos keep it close until the second half as the Chargers win by two touchdowns.
Final Score: Chargers 28 - Broncos 14; Eric J
The Broncos are coming off a bye week, but their season is already done. Case Keenum is a decent QB, but as I have said many weeks before, he will not get the Broncos to the next level. Courtland Sutton is a beast and freakish athlete which they will continue to see grow. The Chargers are close to getting a great defensive talent in Joey Bosa back from an injury he should have returned from weeks ago. They have an MVP caliber QB and RB leading a high-octane offense with a great head coach. The Chargers are a fun team to watch and one we can easily believe in. I think we will see a close game as the Broncos pass defense will slow Rivers down, but it won’t be enough as their run defense is too poor to stop Melvin Gordon. Final Score: Chargers 32 - Broncos 20; Matt K
Oakland Raiders; (1-8) @ Arizona Cardinals, (2-7); CBS:
Another game where both teams are playing for a high draft pick. Nothing much else to say other than both teams suck and nobody will be watching this not even their own fans. Cards win but who cares really. Final Score: Cardinals 23 - Raiders 6; Eric J
Oh lord can we just watch Alabama vs Clemson instead? The Raiders are the worst team in the league plain and simple. They will continue to look like the worst team in the league even against this Cardinals team. The Cardinals pass rush showed up last week and David Johnson is starting to come to life.
Final Score: Cardinals 24 - Raiders 10; Matt K
Philadelphia Eagles, (4-5) @ New Orleans Saints, (8-1); FOX:
Before last week this was gonna be an incredible match-up so much so the NFL decided to put this game as the 4:25 PM ET prime time game on FOX; it was originally set for 1PM ET kick off. This game still could be very good but the Saints are the best team in football at home and the Eagles are a team fighting for their playoff lives. As an die-hard Eagles fan after last week's loss to the Cowboys after a bye to me this season is pretty much done and they won't make the playoffs however the NFC East is so bad that they can somehow win the NFC East but it ain't happening. The Saints win this going away simply because the Eagles can't score points this season, they've scored over 30 once and that was against the NY Giants. Final Score: Saints 45 - Eagles 24; Eric J
The Eagles gave the Cowboys their first road win of the season last week as they showed even with Golden Tate, they aren’t playoff caliber. The offense against a good defense doesn’t seem to be able to preform well enough to win. It definitely has something to do with a lack of a ground game, but I haven’t been blown away by Wentz this season. The Saints are the best team in the league and get to play this one at home. Their defense has gotten better as the season has gone on and Brees is leading the MVP race right now as he plays at a level we haven’t seen him before which is remarkable considering he is a future HOF QB already. The Saints should dominate this game and prove to us why they are still the top team in the league. Final Score: Saints 36 - Eagles 24; Matt K
Sunday Night Football, 8:20PM ET; NBC:
Minnesota Vikings, (5-3-1) @ Chicago Bears, (6-3):
Final Score: Bears 23 - Vikings 20; Eric J
The Vikings looked like the team we expected them to be before their bye week and now they are back from a bye fully rested and ready to roll to the NFC North title. Cousins will have to beat the Bears himself this week, as the Bears have a great run defense and Dalvin and LatMurray might have a tough week. I believe Diggs and Theilen will shred the Bears passing defense this weekend. The Bears are the most overrated team in the league in my eyes. They have 6 wins yes, but all 6 are against teams with losing records. They aren’t beating teams that they would have to face in the post season. Their pass rush is only effective with Khalil Mack and Trubisky is a slightly above average QB. I love the Bears run defense though and I do believe they are headed in the right direction for the future, but they aren’t there yet.
Final Score: Vikings 29 - Bears 20; Matt K
Monday Night Football, 8:15PM ET; ESPN:
Kansas City Chiefs, (9-1) @ Los Angeles Rams, (9-1):
Final Score: Rams 37 - Chiefs 34; Eric J
The game of the week and possibly the regular season. The game was moved from Mexico City to LA after a concert destroyed the field, they were expected to play on in Mexico City. The Chiefs have the best young QB in the NFL dominating defenses. They have Kareem Hunt running all over teams and Tyreek Hill is wreaking havoc on secondaries around the league. This offense is going to be a huge problem for the Rams defense that has already been exposed slightly. The Rams offense though is no joke either as we should see a high scoring affair as neither team has the defense to stop the other teams offense. The Rams have Goff who has turned into a great NFL QB, Gurley who is in MVP form once again, and Woods and Cooks at WR completing a great WR tandem. This game should be extremely fun for us all and regardless of the horrible commentating team be a great game to watch.
Final Score: Chiefs 41 - Rams 39; Matt K
