Moving right along in our "Top 10 Right Now" series, today's report focuses on the shortstop position. Easily the most talented position in all of baseball right now and the position that is extremely critical to the overall defensive success of a team. Out of all 9 positions on the diamond, defense is key for the shortstop above anything else and virtually every team values that more than offense at this position.
When you survey all 30 teams in baseball right now, almost half of the teams have some sort of All-Star or top notch shortstop whose name you easily remember. In fact, you could argue that for some teams, their shortstop is the star of their team or as others like to coin it, the "Face of the Franchise." Regardless of how you break it down and evaluate the talent at this position, there is some serious star-studded talent throughout.

Next up on the docket in the "Top 10 Right Now" series is second baseman. Second base is a position where there are certainly the haves and have nots and a position where having a solid glove, along with defensive skills, is an absolute must.
Currently, there are only a few guys who play at second base, who could be potential future Hall of Famers, but who knows what the future holds at that position and what could end up happening later on. In it's simplest terms, second base is a position that isn't the strongest in the game, but it's certainly not the weakest position, around the diamond, either.

Welcome BASEBALL Fanatics to Philly Sports Passion 2019 MLB Top 10 Right Now! Myself and Chris love baseball so much that we will be doing our own top ten right now just like MLB Network does every year before each season. We will each have our own list, we'll be starting with the catcher position. We've decided to do two positions a week, the plan is Mondays and Fridays hopefully however, some weeks might be different.

It's that time again! Hard to believe that Spring Training is a mere few weeks away and that there are still a number of notable free agents left on the open market without deals. Hopefully it will be a couple of action packed weeks and the Hot Stove will feel like the vintage Hot Stove again, but no guarantees with that one.
